OUR MISSION

Healing Hands Incorporated was founded in August 2016 to end sexual commercial exploitation and domestic and gender-based violence. This is a black owned and run organization that provides direct services to the black community in New York city. Aware that ignorance contributes to the injustices in sexual violence Healing Hands Incorporated mission is to raise awareness, break the cycle of silence that exist around these topics and empower survivors live a better life after trauma, abuse and exploitation. We offer survivors access to counseling, economic empowerment, wellness activities, and so much more to prevent gender violence, and empower survivors. Although we are an expert in serving Black communities, our services are valuable and available to all survivors when needed. Our dedicated team of staff, volunteers and board member speaks more than ten (10) languages.

MEET OUR FOUNDER

Alida Tchicamboud is the founding director of Healing Hands Incorporated serving survivors of gender-based violence. An inspiring motivational speaker Alida speaks candidly from personal and professional experience about surviving domestic and sexual violence. Her credentials include years of keynote speaking and leadership educating communities on sensitive topics such as rape, incest, commercial sexual exploitation, domestic and gender violence. As a trauma-informed consultant, she collaborates with other statewide organizations and government agencies to develop and implement best practices and policies for victims and survivors.
